Katie Feldman (Julianne Hough) escapes to the small town of Southport, North Carolina, to start a new life. She takes on a new identity, determined to keep her past a mystery. Katie finds work as a waitress and keeps to herself, but she can’t ignore the bond forming with Alex Wheatley (Josh Duhamel), a widowed store owner with two young children. As Katie begins to let down her guard and cherish her new life, her past starts to catch up with her, threatening to destroy the safe haven she has found.
